Above is N.S.W. Big Red Kidney Bus. Queensland needs one.

Our major project is Big Red Kidney Dialysis Bus

We Need Your Help. Robina Lions Club is undertaking a major project which runs from 2019 through to 2020. This is called the Big Red Kidney Bus.  We want to have the first Big Red Kidney Dialysis Bus in Queensland.  This bus will be a mobile bus with three diaysis chairs, 3 renal nurses and a renal technician. At the moment when dialysis patients visit Queensland they are only able to have emergency dialysis at local Qld hospitals because of the high demand for dialysis beds.  Dialysis patients need to have their lifesaving treatment 3 days a week 5 hours each treatment so it is difficult for patients to travel interstate.  Many patients are confined to their homes which causes great mental stress on patients, families and friends. Can you help us to raise the $250,000 required to get the Big Red Kidney Bus on the road? So far we have raised over $235,000.00 Donations can be made to BSB 034-279 Acc. No 520251. As you can see we are almost there. We have received a grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation of USD $68,000 and we have a little more to go, to make this kidney bus a reality.

Robina Lions Club would like to thank City of Gold Coast Council Covid Community Organisation Hardship Grants Program. GCCC kindly donated $5000 to our Club through their Grants Program which is to be used for our Movie Carnival. Each year in June Robina Lions Club operates a Movie Carnival for disadvantaged & physically/mentally challenged children, parents/carers.  We give each guest a movie ticket, popcorn, drinks and a chance to win a prize in our raffles,.  Due to Covid we were unable to fundraise for the Movie Carnival this year. Now due to the kind donation from GCCC our Movie Carnival will still go ahead  Big Yah!!! for the day to the City of Gold Coast Council Grants Program. Due to Covid restrictions unsure whether the Movie Carnival will happen this year but will definitely be back bigger and better soon.  Some photos from last year to see what a great project this is.
